Established in 1979, Turning Point Educational Services helps students grow academically by providing educational therapy, educational assessment, and one-on-one tutoring in your home, at your school site, or at our Oakland-based office.  Turning Point serves the San Francisco East Bay including Alameda, Albany, Berkeley, Emeryville, Oakland, Piedmont, San Leandro, and San Lorenzo.

Carolyn Edwards, M.Ed., Director
Director Carolyn Edwards has over twenty years’ experience as a learning specialist, classroom teacher, and child advocate.  She earned her B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley and holds a Master’s of Education with an emphasis in Educational Therapy.  She has directed Turning Point for over ten years during which time it has served several hundreds of children.  She is a member of the Association of Educational Therapists and the International Dyslexia Association. She has published three books of myths and folktales; is a storyteller; and reviews books for the Association of Children’s Librarians.
