“You must do the thing you think you cannot do.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

Children in our culture are asked to meet high academic demands and standards.  Even though some of today’s educational practices may seem distressingly out-of-touch with a child’s true learning needs, schools are trying to help children to meet the challenges of the future.  Training the mind for career and artistic problem-solving, responsible civic participation, and personal achievement and satisfaction are worthy goals.  Struggles with these goals invite students to build the character that deepens the meaning and satisfaction in their lives.

Turning Point focuses on helping students and their families build the capacity to compensate for or to overcome academic struggles.  We nurture the growth of each student’s full potential.  We help them know themselves as masters of skills and subject matter, so that they can achieve success, and advocate for themselves.
